Training Aim
Introduction to Renewable Energy will provide an overview of green energy technologies available in the market for the decarbonisation of industry. Participants will be able to identify suitable energy optimisation strategies for their company which take into account the company’s site settings, operational requirements and available resources.
Course Outline
This course introduces renewable energy, the drivers for energy transition, how to decarbonise energy use and key indicators for RES feasibility assessment. The following technologies will be covered, addressing working principles, possible configurations, advantages and disadvantages and design considerations:

About the Trainer
Diana Vaz, Renewable energy technologist at IMR
In the past year, Diana managed the development of the Green Book - a comprehensive guide that demystified the complexities of several renewable energy technologies - and managed and co-developed a toolkit for assessment of renewable energy technologies, tested through the delivery of 5 feasibility assessments for manufacturing companies.
Diana has a strong mix of experience in applied research and consultancy in the area of renewable energy engineering and sustainability. Academically, she holds a Bachelor and Master degree in Mechanical Engineering, with specialisation in Energy and Environment, and a postgraduate diploma in Circular Economy.
